We have a range of opportunities to take part in sport, whether you want to meet new people, try a new sport, or compete in a sport you have always loved.

Our 34 Student Sport Clubs offer students the opportunity to take part at a range of levels of sport participation, from non-competitive sport to competitive BUCS teams.

Our Sport Clubs are student led and have structured committees to promote student leadership and skills development. Most of our Sports Clubs give members weekly coached sessions, allowing students to take part in their sport and develop skills further. We offer the following membership types across our clubs:

"Just TRY"

An entry level 6 week course suitable to those trying a sport for the first time and looking to gain skills rather than be competitive. Please note that this membership is only available in semester 1.

"Just PLAY"

Low committment, bookable sessions week-by-week, that are free of charge with no competitive element.

"TRAIN"

Regular coached sessions with a focus on individual improvement and some self-funded competitive opportunities. Ideal for anyone who does not want to commit to weekly BUCS fixtures. This will be a one off annual fee.

"COMPETE"

Regular coached sessions with a focus on performance as well as weekly BUCS fixtures. Suitable for anyone who enjoys competition against other university teams and wants to improve their performance. This will be a one off annual fee.

"PERFORM"

This program makes up our Focus Sport and Scholarship offering. It includes high quality coaching, support services, fixtures and a high volume of committment. Please note that this is by application only and is not a purchasable membership. Please see the the Student Athletes page for more information.

"Intramural Leagues"

Regular league fixtures in a competitive but social environment, facilitated by our fully qualified referees and campus league interns. This program is suitable for anyone who is interested in competing alongside their friends but without the element of regular training.
