Basketball is open to all Northumbria University students at any level of experience. Our Basketball club boast a friendly, diverse and active environment with the desire to keep their outstanding reputation within BUCS & the university.

Basketball is another one of our biggest clubs at Northumbria with 6 teams (4x Men & 2x Women) entered to compete in BUCS in the 2022/23 season.

On top of all the fun you’ll have playing basketball, you’ll enjoy a variety of social events organised by the club making it the perfect opportunity to play the sport you love while having a great time and making new friends.


Social Sport

Social Sport Basketball is free with a Fitness membership or is £3 per a session. The session runs every Thursday from 5-6pm in Sport Central, and offers students an opportunity to get involved with a flexible fun Pay As You Go offer in a fun welcoming and friendly enviroment. 

  


Getting involved

Basketball is one of our ‘BUCS WEEKLY’ clubs.

Once you have been selected into one of our teams you will need to pay to join the club.

Social Sport

Northumbria Sport are delighted to announce that Basketball is part of our 22/23 Social Sport programme. 

If you fancy getting involved with our Social Sport Basketball offer, come along to our weekly session every Tuesday 5pm-6pm in the Sport Central Upper Hall. 

All sessions will be bookable via the NUSport App, which can be found on your App store or by clicking here. If you haven't already got an account with us you will need to create one before you can book onto sessions. This can be done by clicking 'Account' within the app or using this link and click 'Sign Up Now'. Follow the process and you will be sent a pin via your email which you can login to our app with. Club Costs

Teams that compete in BUCS will have coached training sessions, strength & conditioning, travel and use of playing kit included in their membership fee.

Basketball BUCS: £250

If you have been successful at trials you will be given a BUCS Card, take this to reception and pay for your membership here.
