Basketball is open to all Northumbria University students at any level of experience. Our Basketball club boast a friendly, diverse and active environment with the desire to keep their outstanding reputation within BUCS & the university.

Basketball is another one of our biggest clubs at Northumbria with 4 teams (2x Men & 2x Women) entered to compete in BUCS in the 2019/20 season.

The club itself is led by two coaches

Chris Bunten (Head of Women’s)

Drew Lasker (Head of Men’s)

On top of all the fun you’ll have playing basketball, you’ll enjoy a variety of social events organised by the club making it the perfect opportunity to play the sport you love while having a great time and making new friends.

On top of a fantastic Club offer we are also delighted to offer Table Tennis as part of our Social Sport Offer.

Social Sport Basketball is free with a Fitness membership or is £3 per a session. The session runs every Tuesday 5-6pm in Sport Central Upper Hall, and offers students an opportunity to get involved with a flexible fun Pay As You Go offer in a fun welcoming and friendly enviroment.
