Basketball is open to all Northumbria University students at any level of experience. Our Basketball club boast a friendly, diverse and active environment with the desire to keep their outstanding reputation within BUCS & the university. As basketball is one of out Focus Sports, players benefit from a high level coaching team to help them develop their skills.
Basketball is another one of our biggest clubs at Northumbria with 6 teams (4x Men & 3x Women) entered to compete in BUCS in the 2025/26 season.
On top of all the fun you’ll have playing basketball, you’ll enjoy a variety of social events organised by the club making it the perfect opportunity to play the sport you love while having a great time and making new friends.

Equipment can be provided by the club for new students where required.
2025/26 memberships will only be available to purchase via an online link shared following the squad selection event during Big Week of Sport (BWOS) which is running from 25th September – 5th October 2025. All club memberships must be purchased no later than Monday 6th October.
