The Swimming club at Northumbria are a friendly and welcoming club. Based out of Sport Central’s 25m pool, the club have access to coached sessions throughout the week including use of the sauna and steam room. The sessions vary between mornings and afternoons giving you the flexibility to meet the demands of your course studies.
Those keen to compete on behalf of the university have access to enter any of the following BUCS events that take place throughout the year: BUCS Long course, Short course and Team events.
On top of all the fun you will have in the pool, you will enjoy a variety of social events organised by the club making it the perfect opportunity to play the sport you love while having a great time and making new friends.
All club training has now ceased for 2023/24. Students enquiring about joining the club in 2024/25 season can contact the Club Committee via email or instagram. 2024/25 memberships will be available to purchase from September 2024.

Swimming Lessons

This programme is aimed at novices or complete beginners of the sport. Swimming Lessons sessions can be purchased in blocks of 10 weeks for £30.
TRAIN - £150
This membership is aimed at students wanting to swim regularly for fitness or to improve technique. Coaching is provided. No competitive element is included within the membership, and any competition entries will need to be self-funded. Membership is capped at 30.

COMPETE - £225
This membership is aimed at students wanting to improve technique and swim times. Coaching is provided. Students purchasing this membership will be training towards competitions. The membership includes entry in to BUCS Team Swimming and local BUSL swims. BUCS Short and Long Course entries remain self-funded. Membership is capped at 30.

This membership is only available by invitation, following a selection event. Students purchasing this membership will train as part of a performance group, coached by Will Murden. The membership includes entry in to BUCS Team Swimming and local BUSL swims. BUCS Short and Long Course entries remain self-funded.
