Supporting this year's Brit Challenge

Northumbria Sport are once again supporting this year’s Brit Challenge along with Durham, Newcastle, Teesside and Sunderland universities and colleges within the region by providing students and staff with FREE exercise activities on Thursday 14 March.

The British Inspiration Trust (BRIT) exists to support and improve the mental health, fitness, and wellbeing, of young adults, students, and staff, throughout the UK.

With it being the year 2024, we are encouraging as many students and staff to do 24 minutes of of physical activity, with FREE activities including:

  • Swimming
  • Gym access
  • Group exercise classes
  • Netball, badminton and table tennis sessions

All activities will take place at Sport Central and can be booked via the NU Sport App.

So how do you get involved? Simply,

  1. Download the NU Sport App.
  2. Create a FREE user account.
  3. Then sign up to a Brit Challenge activity (all activities will be bookable from Thursday 29 February).

Or you can head to Sport Central reception. 

The campaign, which place on Thursday 14 March, also coincides with University Mental Health Day.
