Here at Northumbria, our Tennis Club boasts a friendly, diverse and active club that is open to all students & abilities! The club have 2 x Men’s and 2 x Women’s BUCS team alongside a very successful and popular social tennis group.

The club train and compete at both David Lloyd and Northumberland Club and the social side use Jesmond Tennis club.

On top of all the fun you’ll have competing, training and learning the amazing sport that is Tennis, you’ll enjoy a variety of social events organised by the club making it the perfect opportunity to play the sport you love while having a great time and making new friends.

Tennis Men's 1st team won Varsity Performance of the Year Award at Northumbria Sports Ball Awards 2026.

Students enquiring about joining the club in 2026/27 season can contact the Club Committee via email or instagram. 

2026/27 memberships will be available to purchase following attendance at the Taster and Squad Selection events during Big Week of Sport in September. Visit the Tennis stall at our Sports Fair on Wednesday 23rd September (taking place in Sport Central) to meet the committee and find out more information.
