Northumbria Sport are delighted to offer the opportunity to try Dodgeball!
This new club will be offering two formats in 2024/25. The first option is a regular coached club session that includes a team entry in to BUCS Dodgeball, where you have the opportunity to compete against other University teams, as well as being involved with our annual Varsity event (where teams from Northumbria face off against teams from Newcstle University). The second option is a free, low commitment Just Play offer, where you can book on to the session on a weekly basis and play in a non-competitive envrionment. Please note the Just Play sessions are designed for students to try the sport, and these sessions are facilitated by student interns. Students regularly accesing the free Just Play sessions are encouraged to purchase the Dodgeball Club membership.
As a new club, we are open to students who have absolutely no prior experience in the sport. You'll have fun learning the sport while having a great time and making new friends.
The club also have four positions still available on the Club Committee for 2024/25. Please get in touch if you are interested in getting involved. You will have the opportunity to access our Volunteering and Internships Recognition Scheme (VIRS) and will receive training and a free committee top.
Students interested in assisting with coaching can access a Dodgeball Coaching qualification free of charge - get in touch with us to find out more!
