What is Rounders?
Rounders is a fast-paced team sport where players take turns batting and fielding. The aim? Hit the ball, run around the bases, and score as many “rounders” as you can before getting caught out! It’s a brilliant mix of strategy, speed, and teamwork—and perfect for players of all levels.
Club Highlights:
- Indoor training sessions at Sport Central
- Open to all Northumbria students, from beginners to experienced players
- Aiming for BUCS team entry in the near future, so if you’re competitive, this is your chance to shine!
What do you need?
- Comfortable sportswear and trainers
- A willingness to learn and have fun!
All equipment will be provided at training sessions, so you can jump straight into the action.
Rounders Club Update – Semester 1
Thanks to everyone who showed interest in Northumbria’s new Rounders Club! We were really excited to launch this fun, fast-paced sport, but unfortunately we haven’t had enough sign-ups to get the club up and running this semester.
Still keen to play Rounders?
We’d love to hear from you! If you’re interested in joining the Rounders Club in Semester 2, please get in touch with VP Sport Olly Scanlan to register your interest. If we gather enough demand from students, we’ll look to relaunch in the new year.
Rounders is a brilliant team sport that’s easy to learn and great for all abilities, so if you’re looking for something new, this could be your chance to step up to the plate!
All of our Sports Clubs are supported by our dedicated Sport Clubs Officer Jade Featherstone who is based in our Office in Sport Central.
