Despite the high level of competition, the club are very friendly and welcoming, and always keen to take on new members, whether or not you have played the sport before. Based out of Sport Central’s 25m pool, the club have access to coached sessions throughout the week, including use of the sauna and steam room. The sessions vary between predominantly water-polo-based and swim-only sessions.
On top of all the fun you will have in the pool, you will enjoy a variety of social events organised by the club, making it the perfect opportunity to play the sport you love while having a great time and making new friends. To include everyone, water polo offers a range of sober socials and team-bonding trips. We also pride ourselves on going international every year, such as Malta, Germany or France.
Water Polo had a very successful season in 2025/26, with the Women's 1st team completing a League and Conference Cup double. Club President Dom Harvey was shortlisted for the Committee Member of the Year Award at Northumbria Sports Ball Awards 2026, with Women's 1st team also shortlisted for Varsity Performance of the Year, and Ruby Taylor shortlisted for Individual Performance of the Year.
