Netball is open to all Northumbria University students at any level of experience. We have a number of options for you depending on whether you want to play competitively, develop your skills or just get back into the sport you used to love.
Netball is one of our biggest clubs at Northumbria with 6 teams entered to compete in the upcoming BUCS season, plus 2 development squads that vary from competing in a local league to friendlies throughout the season.
Available Netball Memberships in 2024/25:
"Just PLAY" Free
Mondays 17:00 - 18:00 (Sport Central)
This programme is aimed at students who are interested in playing the sport without any commitment. The fun and engaging sessions are completely free to book on to, on a weekly basis, as a first come first served, via our app. There will be 30 spaces available in each of the sessions each week.
"TRAIN" £75
Group Two: Mondays 19:00 - 20:30 - Sport Central South Court
Group One: Mondays 20:30 - 22:00 - Sport Central South Court
This membership offers regular coached sessions for students interested in gaining Netball skills without the competitive element.
“COMPETE” £200
Women's 1st/2nd Squads: Mondays 17:00-19:00, Fridays 07:00 - 08:45
Women's 3rd/4th Squads: Mondays 18:00-20:00, Fridays 07:00 - 08:45
Women's 5th/6th Squads: Mondays 20:00-22:00, Fridays 07:00 - 08:45
All training takes place in Sport Central (either Centre or South Court).
The COMPETE memberships offer regular coached sessions and include opportunities to take part in BUCS fixtures. The Netball club have 6 teams entered in to BUCS this year. COMPETE memberships can only be purchased following successful squad selection during our Big Week of Sport.
Please note some dates will be unavailable due to facility closures and external events taking place.
