Team Northumbria star Leah Kennedy is on course for the 2018 Commonwealth Games after clinching an England contract for the second successive season.
The Darlington defender is one of 24 players awarded a full-time contract for the 2017/18 season.
And the Northumbria University graduate is now firmly in the frame to make the plane for Australia’s Gold Coast next spring.
Kennedy is recovering from the knee injury - and subsequent operation - that ruled her out of the bulk of the 2017 Netball Superleague.
And an England contract is just the boost the Sport Central favourite needs as she steps up her rehab with a view to stepping back out on court this autumn.
The 2017/18 England Roses season will include two editions of the Quad Series, a three-match Series in New Zealand, the 2017 Fast5 tournament, a home International Series later this year and the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
