Sirens completed a Netball Superleague double over out-of-sorts Team Northumbria as TeAroha Keenan’s side failed to maintain their top flight momentum.
Hopes were high that TN could complete a successful revenge mission north of the border and build on a brilliant show against Mavericks.
But Sirens followed up their big win on Tyneside earlier this season with an equally convincing 69-47 victory at home.
Keenan was finally able to hand Noleen Lennon a starting seven spot with the experienced Northern Ireland international named as goal keeper.
And a strong TN line-up posed Sirens all sorts of problems early on with the two sides separated by a single goal going into the second period.
The hosts finally found a way to put daylight between the two teams midway through the second quarter.
And TN trailed 34-25 at the break with Keenan forced to make four changes in a bid to stay in touch.
Rachel Bird followed up her impressive display against Mavericks with another encouraging performance at wing defence.
But Sirens refused to allow their rivals a way back in and blew the game wide open to outscore TN 20-8 in the third quarter.
A competitive final quarter couldn’t mask Keenan’s disappointment as the visitors failed to do themselves justice.
And Monday’s trip to Manchester Thunder looms large with the former champions edging past Celtic Dragons to claim another win this weekend.
