Northumbria’s Water polo club consists of 1x Men’s & 1x Women’s team who compete in weekly fixtures in BUCS.

Despite the high level of competition, the club are very friendly and welcoming and always keen to take on new members whether you have played the sport before or not. Based out of Sport Central’s 25m pool, the club have access to coached sessions throughout the week including use of the sauna and steam room. The sessions vary between predominantly water polo based & swim only.

On top of all the fun you will have in the pool, you will enjoy a variety of social events organised by the club making it the perfect opportunity to play the sport you love while having a great time and making new friends.


Club Costs: 

"COMPETE" 23/24 Membership - £175  *Memberships will be reduced to £87.50 for semester 2* (Available from January 2024)

Trial will be held on Monday 15th January 19:00 - 20:30 for COMPETE half price memberships

All training in Sport Cental Pool: Mondays 19:00 - 20:30 & Thursdays 19:00 - 20:30  plus  additional swim-only session Fridays 15:00 - 16:00

 

"TRAIN" - New membership for January 2024 - £50 - Access to coached weekly sessions 

Trial session will be held on Thursday 18th Janaury 19:00 - 20:30

All club training has now ceased for 2023/24. Students enquire about joining the club in 2024/25 season by contacting the Club Committee via email or instagram.

Water Polo had a very successful season in 2023/24, with the Women's 1st team completing a double in BUCS by winning Northern 2B and the Northern Conference Cup. The Women's 1st team are also shortlisted for Team of the Year award in the annual Northumbria Sport Awards. The Men's 1st team also reached their respective Northern Conference Cup Final.
