Northumbria University are celebrating BUCS gold after multi-talented student Lucy Turner blew away the opposition in Bedford.
Turner and team-mates Laura Voss and Amy Richards competed in the England Under 20 combined events championship.
And Turner’s third-place finish was the best by a student athlete - securing gold and 12 BUCS points for Northumbria.
Her overall score of 5,433 was a 1,000 point improvement on 2016.
And long jump specialist Turner can now look forward to a summer reinforcing her reputation as one of the rising stars of British heptathlon.
Voss bagged BUCS bronze following a sixth-placed finish in the Under 20 combined event.
And Richards finished 11th overall - seventh in BUCS - to complete an outstading weekend of athletics action for Noethumbria.
