Team Northumbria have signed Great Britain national team member Hannah Shaw with the centre due to make her debut against Oaklands Wolves this afternnon.
The Sport Central franchise have made a move for their new recruit after the departure of Chantelle Handy to Turkey - with Shaw available after leaving her hometown Nottingham Wildcats.
"I am very excited to have Hannah join our programme - as are the rest of the team," said Northumbria head coach Chris Bunten.
"Hannah trained this week and instantly showed the impact she can have. She brings a lot of positive and new dimensions at both ends of the court.
“Hannah is a very driven person and wants the opportunity to continue to improve in all areas of the game.
"We have no doubt that her time here at Northumbria will help her achieve her goals.
“The support services we have in a full-time capacity like strength and conditioning, physiotherapy, sports psychology, sports nutritionalist and performance analysis is something Hannah will be able to benefit from while she is here.”
