Learn to Swim

Our learn to swim sessions are aimed at students who have never swam or have very limited experience swimming. These sessions are available in semesterly blocks with aim of improving students swimming ability. To book your space on the course please CLICK HERE. 

Sessions will last for 10 weeks starting from the 17th January and cost £30 for the block booking. 

Pool Standards

The 25m, 6 lane pool has been constructed with a movable floor which enables the depth to be changed between 1.25-2 metres making it the perfect environment for both beginners and advanced swimmers alike. Sport Central also hosts regional and national swimming galas. The swimming pool also uses UV filtration which enables us to minimise the quantity of chemicals used thereby improving everyone’s swimming experience.

Please also note,

• A minimum of 3 lanes out of 6 will always be available during our pool opening hours.
• Infants under the age of five years, or who appear to be under five, are only admitted to the facility when accompanied by a parent or a responsible person who must be at least sixteen years of age on a one to one basis.
• Children under the age of eight but older than four, are only admitted to the facility (swimming pool) when accompanied by a parent or a responsible person who must be at least sixteen years of age on a one to two basis.
• Accompanying adults must not leave children under the age of eight unattended.
• Sport Central reserves the right to change scheduled public sessions and lane allocation at short notice.
