Northumbria University duo Will Muir and Yaree Fantini take a step into the unknown this weekend as both players continue their whirlwind career with England Sevens.
England are one of 12 teams competing in the Silicon Valley Sevens in California during the next 48 hours.
And both Muir and Fantini are expected to play key roles after winning their places in the squad earlier this year.
The Avaya Stadium in San Jose hosts what promises to be an action-packed weekend of short-form rugby union.
And England will do battle with Ireland, Canada and Samoa in a bid to get out of their group and make the knockout stages.
The 12 teams combine for 117 of the 156 World Series cup victories, 16 of 18 series titles, five of the six World Cup titles, and the last three Olympic gold medals in rugby.
Half of the nations to ever claim a World Series cup victory are coming to San Jose.
