Team Northumbria take a break from Northern League action this afternoon as they set their sights on the FA Vase and a trip to Wembley Stadium.
Coach Lane will play host to the second round qualifying clash as TN take on Durham City.
TN will be looking to improve on their FA Vase campaign last year, when they exited in the second round of qualifying after an incident packed 4-2 loss away to Penrith.
After gaining promoting to the Northern League Division One last season, TN have steadily adjusted to the higher level of competition, finding themselves in a respectable 11th place with 13 points after 10 games.
By contrast Durham City find themselves 24 places below TN, sitting in 13th place in the Northern League Division 2 with 11 points, after 10 games.
In terms of goals, TN have scored 13 times and conceded 12 times this season in the top flight - finding most success away from home with eight scored on the road.
Andrei Ardelan tops TN’s scorers list with three goals, with the rest evenly spread over seven players. Josh Bynoe and Robbie Spence share second spot with two goals each, with Sam Read, Lewis Shorrock, Scott Gunn, Ben Dibb-Fuller and Kevin Carr all on one - and one own goal.
So, with a positive goal difference and goals coming from all areas of the pitch, TN look a formidable side on their day and go into their FA Vase clash clear favourites over the Division Two side.
Despite this, coach Colin Stromsoy won’t be taking this fixture for granted, as a successful cup campaign may be just the confidence boost TN need to push on this season.
