Northumbria Are First Division Form Team

Team Northumbria are the form team in Division One of the Northern League following a third win on the bounce at Seaham Red Star.

Colin Stromsoy’s side have won five and drawn one of their last six in the top flight – a record none of their rivals can match.

Saturday’s 3-0 win on Wearside followed TN’s 5-0 thumping of West Auckland and the club head into Monday’s Coach Lane clash against Dunston UTS on fire.

Seaham had no answer to a rampant Robbie Spence as the midfielder helped himself to a first half brace.

In the 10th minute the TN star picked up the ball in the middle of the park and struck a low drive beyond Jordan Harkness.

And four minutes before the break Spence was on target again as he tapped home to open up a 2-0 lead.

Andrei Ardelean bagged his 11th league goal of the season as he finished off an eye-catching five-man move.

And the visitors could have gone nap before Lee Hetherington pulled one back for Red Star with 15 minutes on the clock.

TN can move into the top half of the table with a win against mid-table rivals Dunston.

And with Stromsoy’s men averaging three goals a game in their last six league fixtures expect thrills and spills aplenty at Coach Lane.
