LOCAL RESTRICTIONS | Indoor Sport Club and Social Sessions Currently Postoned

Local COVID Restrictions

With the introduction of the local restrictions including a ban on household mixing across the North East (Northumberland, Newcastle, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Gateshead, Sunderland and County Durham) there has also been a change in the guidance for indoor sport.

Participation in ‘indoor sport’ is now limited to those from the same household or support bubble.

As a result, the majority of INDOOR Northumbria Sport Clubs and Social Sport sessions are currently postponed until further notice.

The current exceptions are the Powerlifting and Weightlifting clubs that now follow gym and fitness procuedures and the Swimming Club that will now follow Public Swim protocols which include enhanced social distancing measures and procedures.

Our outdoor sport clubs and sessions are currently unchanged with the introduction of the local restrictions and continue to follow the government approved National Governing Body protocols.

Member use of the gym, exercise classes and swimming pool are also unaffected currently.

As you will expect with the changing government and local guidance the activity, we are offering is subject to change and at times we may need to cancel, change or adapt our activities last minute. To help keep up to date with changes download the NU Sport App and visit the northumbriasport.com website. You can also view the KEEPING SAFE section of the website to see what we’ve put in place.
