A man of the match performance from the prolific Ben Dibb-Fuller secured an away win at relegation scrappers Jarrow Roofing with Team Northumbria manager Colin Stromsoy hoping last year’s top marksman can replicate his goal scoring prowess next season.
"Ben is adjusting to Division One football like we all are," explained Stromsoy.
"He knows he can play at this level, which is really important as that gives him confidence."
TN went a goal behind just before half time following a defensive mistake from Harry Simpson which allowed John Campbell to slot home.
However, after changing the game following his late substitution against Dunston UTS, Andrei Ardelean made the first XI against The Roofers and levelled the score just four minutes from the end.
Ardelean's equaliser was the catalyst for TN to go on and snatch the win as Dibb-Fuller fired a dead ball into the top corner to score his second free kick in successive games and bring his tally to 14 for the season.
"Dibbsy scored one of the best free kicks I have seen from a player in a TN shirt - he gave the keeper no chance," added Stromsoy.
"He had a brilliant game and without him we couldn't have got back in it."
Another win for TN means Stromsoy's side are now six games unbeaten going into the final match of the season against the already relegated Billingham Synthonia.
"If we beat Billingham Synthonia like we know we should it will put us at the top of the form table at the end of the season," added Stromsoy.
“This year has been a learning curve for me and the players.
“And we have definitely become more resilient as the season has gone on. There's been a realisation that in this division you can't make mistakes because you will get punished.
“At the same time if you're not scoring the goals then you're going to struggle because you don't get many chances.”
TN’s final game of the season will be played at Norton Sports Complex on Wednesday (7:30pm K.O).
