Sports Clubs

Sport is what we do! Our programmes give you ways to PLAY, TRAIN, COMPETE or PERFORM in a sport you already love or help you find something new.

Sport Clubs

Our clubs offer a welcoming environment to meet like-minded people, stay active, develop sporting skills and be part of a supportive and social community.

We have 37 sports clubs available to join and over 80 teams that compete in British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) competitions. We have three different strands to our Sport Club programme – TRAIN, COMPETE and PERFORM.

TRAIN

Suitable for anyone who enjoys regular coached sessions that focus on individual improvement as well as some self-funded competitive opportunities. This will be a one off annual fee.

COMPETE

Suitable for anyone who enjoys competition against other university teams and wants to improve their performance. You’ll get to enjoy regular coached sessions, with a focus on performance as well as taking part in regular BUCS fixtures. This will be a one off annual fee.

PERFORM

This programme is made up of our Focus Sports and Scholarship offering and includes high quality coaching, support services, regular fixtures and requires a high volume of commitment. Please note that this is by application only and is not a purchasable membership. Please see the the Student Athletes page for more information.

What is BUCS?

British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) is the national government body for higher education sport in the UK. Their ambition is to deliver exceptional students sporting experiences that inspire, develop, and unite.
