Interested in starting a Sports Club not currently offered within our programme? You'll need to consider the following:
- How many other students are interested in starting the club?
- Which students would like to form the club committee? [NB A minimum of Club President, Engagement Officer and Competitions Secretary are required for all clubs]
- What facility/venue would you like the club to use for training? [Please enquire with venue about availability and pricing]
- What equipment does the sport require? [Please research pricing]
- Who would you like to coach the club? Have you made contact with any potential coaches to check their availability?
- Do you have an idea of what competitions or events the club would like to consider entering?
- Is the Sport recognised through Sport England?
- Does the Sport have a National Governing Body?
- Is the Sport currently offered by BUCS?

Please note the deadline for applications to start new a new Sports Club for September 2026 has passed. There is still time to apply for a new sport to be included in our Just Play programme, which will help judge if there is demand for you sport prior to us launching the club in 2027/28 season.
