The Northumbria Sport Development Bursary provides funding for students to go towards nationally recognised sport coaching qualifications, conferences, and other training opportunities. Students can apply for up to £200 of funding per academic year.

- Northumbria University students registered to study in the 2026-2027 academic year

- Students actively engaged in the Northumbria Sport Workforce Academy (coaches, umpires, referees, committee members, interns, placement students, and volunteers)

Terms and Conditions:
- You must be registered for study at Northumbria University in the academic year 2026-2027
- Applications for the Sport Development Bursary must be received at least one month in advance of the course/qualification start date
- You must fully commit to completing the course and ensure you are available on all dates requested, including any assessment dates
