All our coaching/officials vacancies will be posted here when they become available. This will include full and part time roles as well as casual hours. 


Part Time Sports Coaches

We are currently reviewing our coaching provision for the upcoming 2026/27 season, and will update this page with any new coaching vacancies that become available.

Current vacancies:

  • Athletics - We are seeking a distance coach to deliver to our growing Athletics Club. Student members regularly participate in local competitions and work towards the BUCS Athletics and Cross Country Championships. 

  • Football – We have opportunities for experienced Football coaches within our large Football programme. Please get in touch if you are interested in delivering Football coaching predominantly at Coach Lane (NE7 7XA).  All enquiries for Football Coaching opportunities should be directed to our Head of Football Michael.Havelock@northumbria.ac.uk

  • Judo - We are seeking a level 2 coach to deliver to our growing Judo Club. The club enjoy 2 training sessions per week, here in Sport Central (NE1 8ST). Student members regularly participate in local competitions and work towards the BUCS Judo Championships. 

  • Netball – We have an opportunity for a level 2 Netball coach to support our large Netball programme. Please get in touch if you are interested in delivering Netball coaching on Monday evenings and early Friday mornings. Availability to coach at fixtures is preferred if possible, and travel is provided.  All enquiries for Netball Coaching opportunities should be directed to our Head of Netball jade.a.featherstone@northumbria.ac.uk

  • Swimming – We have an opportunity for a level 2 Swimming coach to support our growing and competitive Swimming programme. Please get in touch if you are interested. The club has various sessions throughout the weekend, predominantly weekday mornings 07:00-08:30 and some evenings 17:30-19:00. Support at BUCS Short and Long Course events (usually one weekend in November and February) preferred but not essential.

We usually seek Level 2 qualified coaches where possible within our programme, however a Level 1 qualified coach who is willing to work towards a Level 2 during the 2026/27 season may also be considered. All coaches must also hold a current first aid qualification - if not currently held coach must agree to attend one of our in house First Aid Courses ahead fo the season starting in September.
