Athletics Coach: 

Northumbria University Athletics club are looking to recruit a highly motivated and committed multi-discipline coach to lead the Athletics Club weekly training session. This part time role will lead the clubs training sessions held on a Monday and Wednesday evening 18:30-19:30 at Gateshead International Stadium. The Athletics Club Members will have access to track passes with a mixture of Indoor and Outdoor usage depending on their disciplines. The Athletics club compete in three main BUCS events throughout the year (Indoor, Outdoor and Cross-Country Championships).

Water Polo Coach:

Northumbria University Water Polo Club are looking to recruit two highly motivated coaches to lead the Men and Women’s Water Polo weekly training session. This part time role will lead the clubs training sessions held on a coaching the teams at training and fixtures. The teams train on a Monday and Thursday evening 19:00-20:30 at Sport Central’s 25m pool. Both teams compete in the BUCS leagues and play fixtures on a Wednesday, therefore travel to away fixtures is required.

Powerlifting Coach

Northumbria University Powerlifting Club are looking for a part-time lead coach for our thriving and ever-growing club. The ideal candidate with hold a minimum level 1 in their respective sport. They train on a Tuesday from 18:00-20:00 and Wednesday from 19:30-21:30 in our state-of-the-art S&C suite based out of Sport Central. The club is open to all abilities, and they often compete in some local and regional competitions.

Womens Boxing Coach

Northumbria University Boxing Club are looking for an enthusiastic and qualified female Boxing coach to lead our Women’s only, mixed ability sessions. The club has grown significantly in previous years and they are looking to continue their success from September onwards. They train on a Tuesday from 17:00-18:30 and a Thursday from 20:00-21:30 in Lipman Gym which is based on Northumbria Universities city campus. The gym itself has wall mounted bags, a Boxing ring and plenty of floor space. The club have the option to compete in the annual BUCS Boxing Championships which are held around May time.

Netball Coach

Northumbria University Netball club is one of the biggest here at the university and they are looking for coaches to help deliver and create a competitive environment for our 6 university BUCS teams. The club train on a Tuesday evening and Friday morning with fixtures taking place on a Wednesday. Sessions are split with our first and second team training together, third and fourth together and fifth and newly formed sixth team training together. Although fixtures take place throughout the day on a Wednesday both home and away, it is not essential that you are present for all fixtures, but the club would appreciate any support available whether that be present at all fixtures or only certain ones.   

Rates of pay are varied depending on the level of qualification you currently hold.

Table Tennis Coach

Northumbria University Table Tennis club are looking for an individual to lead our club for the upcoming 2022-23 season. The club have two BUCS teams (1 x Male & 1 x Female) and a social element where students can play for the love of the sport without the competitive element of weekly fixtures. The club boast great numbers and we are looking to continue this into the new academic year. They train on a Monday 12:30-14:00 and Tuesday 17:00-18:30 with sessions held out of Sport Central. Weekly BUCS fixtures take place on a Wednesday with both home and away fixtures scheduled. We would prefer the coach to travel with our teams, but this isn’t essential.

Social Sport Coaching

Northumbria University Sport are recruiting a number of sports coaches for our Social Sport Programme. This programme is a fun and engaging way for our students to get involved in sport whilst being able to try a number of different sports. This role will involve you planning and leading on each session ensuring students of all abilities are able to enjoy the sport. You will regulary communicate with Northumbria Sport staff to support the development of the programme.
