Part Time Sports Coaches
We are looking to grow our Coaching Network for the 2024/25 season and have a number of coaching opportunities currently available in the following sports:
- Basketball Men – Provide coaching to one of our COMPETE Men's Basketball squads, who compete regularly in BUCS. Training and home fixtures are based out of Sport Central (NE1 8ST) and Coach Lane (NE7 7XA).
- Cricket – Provide Indoor coaching to our Men's and/or Women's squads during the Indoor Nets season. Training takes place out of our Sports Hall at Coach Lane (NE7 7XA).
- Football Men – Provide coaching to one of our COMPETE Men's Football squads, who compete regularly in BUCS. Training and home fixtures are based out of Coach Lane (NE7 7XA).
- Netball – Provide coaching to our COMPETE 3rd/4th and 5th/6th BUCS Squads. Training and fixtures are based out of Sport Central (NE1 8ST). Please ntoe mroe than one Netball coaching opportunity is available.
- Rugby League Men – Provide coaching to our Rugby League 2nd team, who compete regularly in BUCS. Training and home fixtures are based out of Coach Lane (NE7 7XA).
- Rugby Union Men – Provide coaching to our 3rd and 4th COMPETE Men's Rugby Union squads, who compete regularly in BUCS. Training and home fixtures are based out of Coach Lane (NE7 7XA) on Tuesday and Friday evenings.
- Swimming – Provide coaching to our growing club programme. The successful candidate will assist with coaching both our COMPETE Swim and our TRAIN Swim programmes. Our COMPETE Swim sessions target competitive swimmers who will be training towards competitions during the season. Our TRAIN Swim sessions will oversee competent student swimmers who want to improve their swimming with regular coached sessions in a club environment, without necessarily aiming to take part in competitive swimming.
- Swimming (Lessons) – Provide coaching for our Swimming Lessons, offered to 20 participants at a time in 1 hour slots, in our 25m pool in Sport Central.
We are seeking Level 2 coaches for all current vacancies, however a Level 1 qualified coach who is willing to work towards a Level 2 during the 2024/25 season may also be considered. All coaches must also hold a current first aid qualification - if not currently held coach must agree to attend one of our First Aid Courses in September or October.

Level 7 Referee Course
Northumbria Sport are looking to recruit referees for this upcoming season. We will provide students with a fully funded Level 7 course, which will enable students to earn money both within the University League and within the community.
