If you're a North American athlete applying to study at Northumbria University, you could apply for the North American Athlete Scholarship providing you with a tuition fee discount of up to £9,000.00 (UG) or £6,000.00 (PGT).
At Northumbria University we take pride in our sporting offer, competing in over 35 different sports up and down the country. You could be the next proud student to represent Northumbria University in our British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) Leagues, competitions and events.
We have available scholarship in the following sports:
American Football, Basketball*, Boxing, Futsal, Field Hockey, Golf, Lacrosse, Netball, Rowing, Rugby League*, Rugby Union*, Squash, Swimming, Soccer*, Table Tennis, Tennis, Track & Field, Ultimate, Volleyball* and Water Polo.
*These are our Focus Sports. Northumbria are ranked highly within BUCS in these sports and have a strong local and national profile.
Successful applications for one of our North American athlete scholarships will be given access to a performance sport environment and holistic support service programme that are tailored to the needs of each sport.
Please note that this scholarship is only open to new students applying to Northumbria for September 2025 onwards. If you are a current student and not currently in receipt of the North America scholarship, you are unfortunately not eligible and shouldn't apply at this time.
