Intramural Netball

Intramural Leagues

Your weekly dose of competitive, social, and skill-building netball open to all abilities!

Intramural leagues are held inside the university, and at Northumbria, that means inclusive, friendly, and competitive netball and football opportunities for all students, whether you’re lacing up your shoes or boots for the first time or playing every week.

Our Intramural Leagues offer a great way to stay active, meet new people, and represent your course, society, or hall in a structured league format.

All netball games are held at Sport Central – fully equipped with changing facilities, showers, toilets, three netball courts, and a seating area to sit back and enjoy the games.

All football games are held at top-quality facilities, based at our Coach Lane Sports Ground – fully equipped with changing facilities, showers, toilets, and a mix of 3G, grass pitches, and an indoor sports hall.

Fixtures, Results & Tables

All match details, standings, and league tables will be available on this page.

Captains must complete the team results by 09:00 on Thursday following their fixture on a Wednesday using this link.

We will also regularly communicate with players via the Intramural Netball WhatsApp Community. All netball players are required to join the community.

League & Cup Format

Our Intramural programme features fixtures running from October to March. Teams play each other in their league, with bragging rights on the line, and the most successful team wins the league trophy.

Following the conclusion of the league, a knockout cup competition will run to determine the cup champion.

Captains & Responsibilities

Captains are the glue that holds teams together. Each team will nominate a captain, who'll:

  • Check weekly fixtures
  • Upload scores
  • Report injuries or incidents promptly
  • Nominate the opposition MVP award
