A 12-strong team of Northumbria University Sport staff will join thousands of elite athletes, fun runners and fundraisers in the world's biggest half marathon this weekend.
The determined dozen will be rasing money for the Northumbria Sport Foundation in the 2017 Great North Run.
And it is expected the Northumbria Sport squad will raise thousands of pounds to support individuals and community projects at home and abroad.
"It's always a fantastic experience taking part in the Great North Run," said Northumbria University's Director of Sport and adopted Geordie Colin Stromsoy.
"I look forward to it every year and it's great to be surrounded by dedicated colleagues who give up their free time to raise money for a truly worthy cause.
"We'd like to thanks everyone who has supported us so far - it means a lot when you're out on the roads and the finish line still seems some way off!"
