Northumbria Sport extends partnership with MVP Wednesdays

Northumbria Sport have extended their partnership with MVP Wednesdays for another three years until 2028.

The partnership with the club promoter, who offers sport students a weekly Wednesday night social was initially launched back in 2022 to provide students with a fun, inclusive and safe environment to socialise in within Newcastle city centre. Since the partnership began, the club night has grown exponentially with record breaking attendances each week, which is thanks to the positive working relationships built between MVP and Northumbria Sport.

On the partnership Director of MVP, Ross Clough said: “We love providing students with a place for them to socialise and celebrate on a Wednesday night as well as having fun with their teammates.

“We enjoy working with Northumbria Sport, whether that’s providing sponsorship for events or for sport clubs. We are excited to continue this great work for the next couple of years.”

In addition to the weekly Wednesday night socials, next academic year, MVP aims to host a charity event in Sport Central to further engage sport students and the wider Northumbria student population whilst raising money for charity.

New VP Sport, Olly Scanlan said: “MVP Wednesdays are one of the weekly highlights for sport students, giving them a place to celebrate after BUCS fixtures on a Wednesday.

“It’s brilliant to be working with them for another 3 years to provide students with the best student experience possible,” he added.
